Has France Retained Much of its Culture?

Question: Has France Retained Much of its Culture?
Does France have any cultural practices in daily life that sets it apart from other European nations in MODERN times.

(I realize that this is technically cultural, so it’s not exactly a “travel” question, but I’d appreciate it if people would be mature and answer the question. Last time I posted a question about France, nobody answered it, they just complained about how it wasn’t exactly “fit” for the category and THEN reported the question… If you don’t have an answer, then don’t answer! I’m not interested in knowing who the biggest French whiners are.)

Thanks to those willing to answer.

Well we still have a great interest in bread with our baguette, croissants, pain au chocolat. It is very cultural.

Well French people like to demonstrate like no other people. First we demonstrate then we negociate. The way around would be better though.

Maybe one that I haven’t seen in a lot of countries is the kiss when you wake up and meet your parents ( it can go from 2 to 4 kisses on the cheeks ). We do the same when seeing friends ( mostly girls with girls / boys with girls ) and when saying good nignt. Everyday we do this.Boys with boys will shake hands.
