Question: Air France plane travelling “close to the speed of light”..according to ITN..surely not!!?

Towards the end of this clip the narrator suggests that either the plane had stalled or gone close to the speed of light….no wonder it broke up!!
Surely they meant ‘speed of sound’?

I realise they were wrong….it’s just that it’s incredible to think ITN would make such a glaring error.

Either that or airbus are a far better aircraft manufacturer than I realised… not even military fancy pants jets can do that!
