Entry from: Saint-Tropez, France Entry Title: “St. Tropez…. need I say more?” Entry: “Saturday April 11, 2010 So today we went to St. Tropez. We had to leave at 9 in the morning. We got our pack lunch from Le College. Actually quite tastey for a change. Then we had a bus ride to St. Tropez it was two and a half hour car ride on the most windey road on the top of a mountain. Basically we almost died. The bus took up both lanes and didn’t turn too well around huge cliffs. Oh and also I got car sick so I threw up on Beth. Teasin’. That would have been funny though. We did almost hit a man on a bike though. We were all trying to sleep and then we heard this voice outside yelling “hey” and we all looked at this man outside the bus who was too close for comfort. Close call. Finally we made it to St. Tropez. It was such a nice day out. Parfait for Diddy and me. We started walking around and went to the market. It was soooo overwhelming. There are only so many St. Tropez things to buy. Moving on. Then we went on a search for the beaut beaches of St. Tropez. Did I find them? Nope. Basically we found out that they were pretty far away from where we were. Luckily we had some planned things with AIFS. Aude, our tour guide slash AIFS “cool aunt” figure, took us on this walk up to the citadel and a great view of

Entry from: Saint-Tropez, France Entry Title: “First day on the Cote d’Azur” Entry: “The sun was out and the wind was down, so Nico decided it was perfect weather to take the boat out. It was also Alan & Carolyn’s last day. They had a plane to catch at 6pm from Nice, so after a leisurely breakfast by the pool enjoying the view, it was a short drive down to the coast at St Maxime where the boat is kept in the marina. St Maxime is a resort town, very busy at this time of year. Restaurants line the the very touristy main street along the foreshore. There are a lot of apartments, but no high rises and no big hotels. Seems to be more family orientated. Like Nico’s parents do, there are apparently many retirees who live in the north and come down here for the summer. St Tropez is a short distance across the Gulfe de St Tropez, but we first went to Port Grimaud at the head of the gulf, which is like a mini Venice. C****s lined with 2 and 3 level houses and units all joined together, where you can moor your boat right outside the living room. Some of the c****s were lined with restaurants so you could step off the boat into the restaurant. What a delightful place. St Tropez is one of THE places on the coast, the marina there is brimming with multi million dollar vessels of all shapes but mostly big ones. We
